How long does filter replacement installation take?

Most pool filter replacements in Tampa Bay take 2 to 3 hours. We drain and remove the old filter, install the new tank or cartridge housing, re-plumb connections, prime the system, and verify proper flow and pressure before we leave.

We install Pentair (Clean & Clear, Quad DE, Triton II), Hayward (SwimClear, Pro-Grid DE, S-Series sand), Jandy CV cartridge filters, and Sta-Rite filter systems. These are the brands we stock parts for across Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties.

A like-for-like filter replacement on residential pools does not require a permit in Tampa Bay. If we are upgrading to a substantially larger filter that requires plumbing modifications, we will handle any required permitting through your local building department.

Our flat-rate price includes the new filter, removal and disposal of the old unit, all standard plumbing fittings and unions, fresh DE powder or filter sand if applicable, system startup, pressure verification, and a 90-day labor warranty on top of the manufacturer warranty.

Cartridge, sand, or DE — which filter is best for Tampa Bay pools?

Accepted Answer

For most Tampa Bay residential pools, oversized cartridge filters offer the best balance of filtration quality, water savings (no backwashing), and ease of maintenance. DE filters provide the finest filtration. Sand filters are simplest but capture larger particles. We recommend the right type based on your pool size, bather load, and surrounding tree cover.
